International Bachelor Program in Tourism Management
The International Bachelor Program in Tourism Management (ITM) at National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKUHT) is the first government founded educational institution specializing in international travel and tourism related courses. The establishment of ITM is based on the four principle mottos of NKUHT: Professionalism, Entrepreneurship, Globalization, and Humanity. The program aims to cultivate professional knowledge and essential skills, as well as to instill positive work attitudes and an international perspective in the future of tourism management. It is designed to combine both theory and practice in the curriculum and to provide students with local and international experience, including a one-year “paid industry training,” a unique feature of our program.
The core subjects include:
1.Hospitality and Tourism Marketing
2.Destination and Resources Planning
3.Event, Conventions, and Exhibition Planning/Practical
4.Internship (Paid Industry Training)
Based on the program courses and industry internship, graduates will be qualified to seek operational positions in a number of sectors within the hospitality and tourism industry, including: attractions, accommodations, tour operations, e-tourism distribution, sales and marketing, and event planning. Due to our strong program curriculum, our graduates will be prepared to progress up the career ladder within five years of graduation. Graduates may find success in the following positions: Sales Manager, Social Media Coordinator, Product Development Coordinator, Travel Counselor, Professional Conference Organizer, Guest Service Manager and Housekeeping Manager.
The four-year program leads to the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration. All professional courses offered at the ITM are instructed in English. International students at this program are required to take Mandarin as their required language courses.
