Student Life

In ITM, we combine study and professional practice with a great university environment. Every year, a series of cultural and social events are organized at NKUHT for the students. Events like performance, singing, and sports competitions have become traditions enjoyed by all the departments at NKUHT. All students have the opportunity to live in the university dorms during their first year. This is great to create strong friendships with students from different cultural backgrounds. The NKUHT has all you need to help you balance your study and personal life. In addition to the academic infrastructure, our campus has gyms, multiple sports courts, beautiful green areas, KTV, multipurpose auditoriums, and the student’s recreation center for cultural activities.

	ITM Students’ Association (SA) The SA is the soul of ITM. Every year, students from the first and second years have the opportunity to lead and coordinate a series of activities that enrich the social students’ life. In ITM, these events have become a tradition, such as the freshmen orientation camp, summer BBQ, Christmas and Halloween Parties, language courses, winter camps, community service, and alumni sharing week.
English program At ITM, we all come from different backgrounds within Taiwan and around the world. All our classes and activities are conducted in English. However, you will have the chance to learn bits from other languages spoken by your colleagues.
	Student exchange with partner universities ITM opens the possibility for the students to spend one or two semesters in a partner university in North America, South East Asia, Europe, or Oceania. On the other hand, ITM also welcomes exchange students from sister universities.
Professional simulation classroom At NKUHT, we emphasize the importance of applied practice. Our campus has a variety of themed simulation classrooms that allow the students to interact in a professional scenario. Some of these classrooms are the bar and wine cellar, restaurant dining halls of different styles, airplane cabins, and casino.
	Off-cam pus excursions Different courses at ITM incorporate fieldwork and excursions in their classes. The close relation of the university with its industrial partners allows us to take the students off-campus straight to the insides of some of the major tourism companies in the country.
Professional guest speaker Our university and program are well recognized in the Asian tourism world. We often receive the visit of interesting and important speakers coming from the public, industrial and academic sectors. These conferences are great opportunities for our students to learn and create direct links for future cooperation.
	Internship year During the third year of your study, you will be an intern in one of our partner companies within Taiwan and overseas. This internship year is a great opportunity to experience the working style in different countries, practice your skills in a new language, and make connections that may result in a future job.
International Success Several ITM students have been representing NKUHT in international forums and competitions. Some of the most recent stories of success in the international area are Kenita Henville, Rocksun Mathurin, and Emily Bourgois presenting their Pani Island project at the Future Hospitality Summit Dubai 2022. Later this year, Jolin Liu will be representing Taiwan at the World Front Desk Competition, Switzerland.
